Juniors and seniors are invited to participate in Virtual Prom Live—a series of nationwide virtual proms based on time zones. Virtual Prom Live is giving students across the United States and Canada a night of wholesome fun where they can dress up and listen to top regional DJs play the best school-appropriate music. This Saturday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. is Mountain Daylight Time's virtual prom! Students are invited to tune in for contests, giveaways, and moderated chats with others in their region for this FREE virtual event. Do not use the Edge browser when doing schoolwork with Teams. It causes issues with video calls and other formatting problems. The recommended browsers are Chrome and Firefox. These are installed on any school devices that were sent home.DO NOT use the Edge browser in Teams.

Tomorrow will be the last drop day due to Easter vacation. Pick-up/drop-off will resume Tuesday. The school office will be closed Friday through Monday. Have a nice break, everyone! Please remember to contact your bus driver when you need pick-up. If your student had a gym locker and has not yet received received his or her items, please call the office with the locker number and we will get it bagged up for delivery or pick-up.

After much deliberation, the prom has been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience and heartache this will cause.

Based on responses collected from students and parents at both South Heart and New England schools, it has been decided by majority that the Southwest Music Tour to Seattle scheduled for June 6-13 will be canceled.

Hopefully students who are taking Mr. Fritz’s classes discovered Schoology was up and running by early this afternoon.

Students in Ms. Jung’s Gr. 7-11 English were supposed to have returned homework today from their novels. Please arrange for pick up with your bus driver or drop them off in the entryway ASAP. Please don’t panic; there may have been some confusion regarding the due date. The first packet will not be docked for being late. New packets will be going out tomorrow. There will be a letter inside. Read carefully! Pay attention to the next due date!

The two required classes all seniors must pass to graduate are PDP and English. The vast majority of seniors have not logged onto the PDP coursework as of Monday, March 30. Please check with your senior. While the situation we are in is less than ideal, the graduation requirements remain the same. Diplomas will NOT be issued to those who do not pass. We are less than eight weeks away from the end of the fourth quarter. If your senior hasn’t logged in yet, strongly encourage him or her to do so and to get into contact with Mr. Fritz.

When students in Grades 4-12 are using Microsoft Teams, the BEST browser to be operating in is CHROME. Your students will have far fewer technical difficulties.

If you have candid snapshots from this school year or pictures of what your children have been doing during the school closure and are willing to share them, Ms. Mansfield is looking for yearbook material. Email the picture along with names and description of the photos to Ms. Mansfield. Thank you!

Congratulations, everybody! We made it through three days of online learning! The amount of effort this has taken on everyone’s part—students, parents, staff, teachers—is staggering! We really ought to take a moment to commend ourselves and appreciate how we’ve come together to help make this situation bearable. There are definitely kinks in the system, and we all need time to establish a new routine. It’s very important to remember to be patient with ourselves. This is not a perfect situation—at best, it may seem like an overwhelming situation. We are in this together whether we are students, parents, staff, or teachers. Let’s remember to have realistic expectations, to keep our sense of humor, to strive to do our best, and to live in the moment. While it may seem like it at times, this situation will not be forever. Together as students, parents, staff, and teachers—we’ve got this! Let’s roar, Tigers!

For those students on the in-town route, if you could put a weather proof container outside so we can pick up homework and drop off homework that would help us and your students out tremendously. Thank you for all you help and support during this trying time.
