Music

A talented group of New England Public School students proudly represented our school at the annual Surround the State in Song, hosted by the North Dakota American Choral Directors Association.

This year’s participants included Lennie Harris, Isabel Dauksavage, Scarlett Pippenger, Bella Wisham, Ariana Perojo, Teigan Wendlandt, and Kris Goddard. Sixth grader Ryleigh Luther had also been selected to attend but was unable to participate due to illness.

“Surround the State in Song” is a special choral festival designed for students in grades 5–7. Held simultaneously in multiple locations across North Dakota—including Bismarck, Jamestown, Minot, Dickinson, Fargo, and Grand Forks—the festival gives young singers a chance to work with guest conductors, learn new music, and connect with other students who share their love of singing.

The New England group attended the festival at DMS, where they spent the day rehearsing and performing alongside students from other schools in the region. It was a wonderful opportunity to grow as musicians and make new friends through music.

🎤 Way to go, students—your voices made us proud!
