The New England Tiger Volleyball team turned in a strong showing at their home tournament, finishing as the runner-up after an impressive day of competition.
The Tigers dominated pool play, going undefeated with wins over Belfield, Baker (MT), and Wilton to earn the No. 1 seed heading into tournament play. In the opening round, New England outlasted South Heart 25-23 and 25-18 before edging Washburn in a nail-biting semifinal, 25-24 and 25-22.
The championship matchup saw the Tigers face off against a tough Trenton squad. Despite a valiant effort, New England fell 20-25 and 18-25, securing second place overall.
Coach Stuber praised the team’s effort, saying, “The girls played like a team all day and stayed mentally strong. I’m very proud of their performance.”
The Tigers’ resiliency and teamwork highlighted a memorable day of volleyball for the program.
