On November 6, 2018, voters overwhelmingly approved the district’s bond referendum. Sixty five percent (65%) of the nearly 352 votes cast were in favor of the bond. Of the 352 votes cast, 224 voted “yes” and 128 voted “no”. The proposed measure needed 60 percent approval to pass.
This was a team effort by many, many people and we really appreciate our community for coming forward and saying “yes” to a bond referendum, putting students first and ensuring that we have that room and capacity in the future for our kids. It really shows that our community is very much forward thinking and that they’re looking to have those best opportunities available for our students.
We would like to thank all the stakeholders for all their hard work and dedication working on this project. This was a historic day for New England Public Schools, the city of New England and all its residents. This is a great new start for all of us, thank you and congratulations!
